Judith Watkins

Judith Watkins is a linguist, adventurer, and suspender of disbelief. Her student life in Cold-War-era Moscow, round-the-world escapades and mishaps as a tour guide have provided her with a wealth of stories. She has been married for decades, has three children and, as a result, has done a lot of ‘inner work’. She always tries to find the humour in every situation and, for two years, during the pandemic, wrote a weekly column for The Sheffield Telegraph, detailing her lockdown life with the Nearly-Beloved and Grunting Teen. When she’s not explaining the intricacies of the English language to foreign students, you can find her standing in tree pose, having a gong bath or writing fiction based on her experiences.
