As the mum of two boys who aren't into dystopian or fantasy, Sam Clarke struggled to find adventure novels with a male main character that would inspire her children to read so she wrote one herself. Her first book, The Twelfth Ring, was published on Amazon. Encouraged by consistently high reviews (average 4.7*), she started working on her second novel, The Templar Sword, which made it on the top-ten of the Ink & Insights competition and was also short-listed as a Judge's Favourite
