Block by Block: A Rome London Novel

Two unlikely companions from very different worlds - one a pragmatic travel writer with a unique and secret gift, the other a dashing shipping tycoon - come together to solve a mystery that extends beyond the grave. It's a story within a story, linking a tragic English romance from 1840 to the happenings of present day, and it all takes place in a British castle, rebuilt on Australian soil, that's home to a group of spirits unable to move on.

Rome London, a writer for a popular travel magazine, arrives in Hobart, Tasmania, to cover the ruins of Port Arthur, an English convict prison. While there on assignment, she crosses paths with shipping tycoon, Heath Jones. Three years previous to their meeting, Heath purchased an English castle that had belonged to his ancestors. The castle was originally sold when the last living heir to the Jones estate was sent to the Australian Colony to serve out his sentence. After purchasing the castle, Heath had it dismantled and shipped to Tasmania where it was rebuilt. Unexpectedly, the family ghosts who had haunted it for years arrive with it. Fortunately for Heath, Rome inherited a gift from her gypsy ancestors: the ability to listen and talk to the dead, a gift she's never truly embraced until now. Soon, she finds herself being drawn into the beautiful, yet tragic love story of Heath's ghostly ancestors in an attempt to help them solve a mystery and be reunited in the next life. But that's not all that's happening, as a budding romance between Heath and Rome tries to find its footing. This is the first book in the Rome London series.
