The Last Redwood Circus
The little wine valley of Greenley, California has a big problem. Pomo Indian journalist Ishi Darkhorse discovers a French wine conglomerate is angling to clear-cut a rare stand of old-growth redwoods where his ancestors were massacred during the Gold Rush. To save the forest from a similar fate, Ishi vows to do whatever it takes, including laying his body down.
When legendary high wire artist Delicia Fortunado teams up with him, her fame draws environmental activists, discarded Pomo tribal members, and a slew of old circus performers, who set up an impromptu village on the massacre ground. To dislodge them, the state’s corrupt governor sends in waves of corporate goons, saboteurs, law enforcement and finally, loggers willing to use their saws as weapons. Media from around the world can't get enough; they want a show from Delicia. And if they can't get that, they want a showdown. As blood is about to flow in this circular firing squad, a greater threat takes center stage, disguised as a simple man from Japan.
