Will-O'-the-Wisp Point
In old English folktales, will-o'-the-wisps are much more than just lights that hover over swamps and marshes. They're believed to be lanterns, carried by malicious fairies or spirits who, having fun at a traveler's expense, lead them to their doom. Welcome to Will-O'-the-Wisp Point.
Candace Hart, a woman with a dangerous past, washes ashore near the small town of Will-O'-the-Wisp Point. After being rescued from a near-death experience, she finds herself given a rare chance to start over. With no means to support herself and no home to return to, she accepts a widow's offer of employment. The terms of the contact: a large sum of money to perform a seemingly impossible task. Along the way she becomes intrigued with the town's legend of the mysterious light, believed to be a lantern carried at night by a woman, who for over a hundred years has wandered the shoreline, awaiting the return of the man she loved. At least that's the story that's been told.
