Flight of Sparrows
Nightmares from the past won’t allow Willow to rest. The Crows are scattered and wounded, and Willow must go back into Dominion territory…alone. An unfamiliar threat knows she’s coming and is waiting patiently as new powers unveil themselves and she continues to discover the hidden warrior within. But will those powers keep her safe or will she become a sacrifice of the Dominion?
"Willow may have survived Dominion’s attack, but the sparrows are worse off in the aftermath. That the betrayal came from within their ranks is painful but not as much as knowing it was someone she least expected to turn on them. However, she has to set that aside now as she discovers her brother is a captive of the evil administration that will stop at nothing until they completely control the people. Brice is the only family she has left, and she will keep trying to rescue him, even when her visions tell her she is walking into a well-laid trap. She must learn to trust her instincts and developing gifts if she is to thwart the plans of Dominion in RA Lingenfelter’s Flight Of Sparrows.
Love proves to be a strong motivator in the never-ending battle between the forces of good and evil. RA Lingenfelter’s adventure story explores the emotional attachments of its principal characters and their reactions when forced into fight or flight mode. Dominion is presented as a more realistic version of an idealistic totalitarian government, and I am pretty sure adherents of George Orwell’s Big Brother doctrine will instantly like them. Willow’s conversations with Finn and her parents' apparitions show she is developing the maturity that must come if she is willing to fight fire with fire. At the same time, the developing romantic quadrangle, for want of a better word to use, serves up a spicy subplot that’s just waiting to explode. Flight Of Sparrows balances entertaining action with an intriguing storyline to produce the perfect riveting adventure tale without sounding familiar. RA Lingenfelter scores with this masterpiece." ~ Readers' Favorite Review
Words cannot describe how much I loved reading Flight of Sparrows. I was glued to the pages from start to finish and could not put it down. It's a fantastic story about unconditional love, redemption, and the fight for freedom. Although it is the second book in this series, it can be read as a stand-alone story. R.A. Lingenfelter delivers a conversational, fast-paced, enjoyable, and engaging read. The author has also added an image of a bird throughout. I liked this detail because it is unique and eye-catching. The characters are the driving force of the story. It did not matter whether they were heroes or villains; they all had intriguing personalities. The main character, Willow, is determined and selfless, willing to risk it all for her loved ones. But now, I do not trust anyone around her because this installment contains a sneak peek into the next in the series, Rise of Falcons, and it revealed plot twists that left me wishing for more. I cannot wait to read more from this author and series. Brilliant story.~ Readers' Favorite Review
