Lesley writes historical crime fiction, set in seventeenth century England (around the time of the English Civil Wars) and non-fiction books about horses in movies and on tv. Her unusual career has ranged from holiday jobs in a racing stables and a stud farm, through journalism, inner city regeneration projects and housing finance and back to farming. She was a Time Out and Jim Beam Cult Film Buff of the year and a Luton Literary Prize winner. She especially enjoys the intense research behind the scenes for her writing.
