I have been an avid reader since my mother read me books as a child. I devoured encyclopedias, I carried books around with me all of the time, and would go to the front of the alphabet in the local public library and start reading each and every book on the shelf. Needless to say the library thing dwindled, but I keep finding ways to make reading more fun such as book challenges.

I work in an academic library (go figure!) and have lived in Iowa all of my life. However, I have recently started traveling the U.S. on the back of a motorcycle. And, yes, I have my trusty books at hand just in case. ;)
