Jess Wells is the author of four novels and five books of short stories, including a recently-released audio book, The Disappearing Andersons of Loon Lake. Her most recent novels are historical, including The Mandrake Broom (dramatizing the fight to save medical knowledge during the witch-burning times in Europe 1465-1540) and A Slender Tether (the compelling story of the early life of Christine de Pizan, the first female intellectual of the Middle Ages). She is the winner of a San Francisco Grant for Literature and a four-time finalist for the Lambda Literary Award.
